In this week's podcast.....

We get the podcast underway by looking at Benfica's Portuguese Cup game against Leixoes. A second line team was enough to see off second division Leixoes. Cavaleiro and Djuricic got on the score sheet, but their goal scoring reactions were quite contrasting; while the first got his first senior goal for Benfica, the latter chose not to celebrate. We examine Djuri's state of mind and offer our opinion.

With the qualification for the next round in the bag, Benfica will play their last game of the group stages this weekend against Gil Vicente as a mere formality. Expect another second line squad, and some more precious minutes for the usual back ups.

Next up, we interview Manel. Touted as the next Matic, we went searching for this mysterious man, what he had to say, and my interviewing skills will surprise you.

On an opinion based segment, we offer our take on JJ's words when asked if there was a player in Benfica's formation that could replace Matic, to which JJ responded they would have to be born ten times. Not only were his words poorly received, but Felipe Nascimento and Bernardo Silva, both formation products, commented through social media. Regular media took the story and ran, while Silva and Nascimento, back tracked and came out later, coerced or not, and explained their statements as non confrontational.

On our second game recap of the podcast, we look back at this past weekends game against Maritimo. 2 goals from Rodrigo and a flickering dominant performance, was enough to avenge the only defeat Benfica has suffered this season, and to remain in sole possession of first place.

On the last segment of the podcast, we offer our mid-season opinion on our Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Attacker, Biggest Surprise, MVP, and biggest Disappointment "awards".
